As we start a new Interact year, we wanted to summarize our activities from last year. We started the 2023-2024 year by hosting the Out of The Darkness Kickball Tournament fundraiser for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). We raised over $400 dollars in donations. Later in the year we sponsored a session of the AFSP It’s Real suicide prevention and mental health training which about thirty students attended.

Our other significant project was to help with the installation of the peace pole outside the Battle student entrance. We hosted a community Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony which also raised awareness of the victims of gun violence.

Other activities included traveling as a club to Jefferson City where we toured the Capital and the courthouse and connected with Interact clubs from around the state. We finished the year with participation in the Mizzou Venture Out high ropes course to advance our skills in communication and leadership.

Interact, like all Rotary and Rotary affiliated clubs, is dedicated to “Service Above Self.” We hope you can join us in 2024-2025.
