ReachOut is sponsored by Columbia Metro Rotary in Columbia Missouri. The primary mission of this project is to connect youth, schools, and other community partners with Rotary Resources.
We have various programs for youth and schools that are designed to:
- Teach soft job skills like expressing interest, setting goals, filling out applications, interviewing, and following through.
- Connect youth and young adults with opportunities to meet and get to know community members who can connect them with jobs.
- Build hope by expanding knowledge of opportunities and how to pursue them.
We have worked with the Columbia Public Schools SPARK and gifted programs, as well as with non profits.
We also sponsor the Interact Club of Columbia, MO which meets at Battle High School.
Through our Revenues for Refugees 2022-2023 District Grant Project, Metro also expanded the ReachOut mission to recently arrived Afghan refugees, with a particular focus on building opportunities for women and families. That project has now evolved into its own nonprofit corporation – Afghan Women’s Community Aid.
Our community cannot afford to waste talent. We are stronger when every member has an opportunity to develop and contribute their unique talents. Our purpose is to help youth and young adults to make the connections they need to move forward and succeed in jobs and in life.
